also, did you know that male anglerfish are really tiny and are completely reliant on the females for survival? he latches onto her and essentially lives off her blood supply, eventually fusing with her when skin begins to grow over him. however, that means they don’t need to find a mate, since you can’t see anything in the deep sea, ensuring the creation of the next generation and (hopefully) the survival of their species
