The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center announced today the start of a collaborative that aims to empower Southeast Asian American young men and engage them in organizing efforts. "In California, 31.9% of Cambodian American men, 31.9% of Hmong American men, 35.8% of Laotian American men and 23.1% of Vietnamese American men do not have a high school diploma. These are rates that are well above the statewide average (19.2%) and second only to Latino men (42.6%)." The Southeast Asian American Young Men's Collaborative (SEAAYM) consists of Khmer Girls in Action (KGA), 1Love Movement, Stone Soup Fresno (SSF) and the Vietnamese Youth Development Center (VYDC).
