#Repost @seadawn.me ・・・ Suggesting #thankstaking should be reframed and celebrated simply as a day of gratitude and giving thanks is a bypassing tactic of whiteness to dismiss the genocide of colonization and settler colonialism (that has not yet ended) while erasing the lived experiences of the Indigenous peoples of this land. The conversations around the table this week should speak truth to power by acknowledging that everything you have to be grateful for comes from the continued genocide of Indigenous peoples whose stolen land upon which you, your family, and your dinner table sit. Center family discussions that ask who’s land you’re on and how you can financially support their sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and work to GIVE THEM THEIR LAND BACK. Examine who your ancestors are and what role your lineage has played and does play in the continued genocide of Indigenous people of this land. . . @seadawn.me #seadawn #landback #decolonize #gratitude #meandwhitesupremacy #truthtopower #thanksgiving #stopcelebratinggenocide #stopcelebratingsettlercolonialholidays #turkey #grateful #foodasresistance #foodie https://www.instagram.com/p/B5Ynn_SA-T8/?igshid=1twodto07kcbr
