12 STRATEGIES TO STAY MOTIVATED IN LIFE
Inspired by a blog post by entrepreneur Sean Ogle of Location Rebel.
Day 6 of The Suitcase Entrepreneur 30 Day Blog Challenge
Today's challenge: "What are my three priorities for the next 30 days that will move me closer towards living life on my own terms? Top Tip: Focus on the ones you believe are a stretch, but achievable."
In Natalie's post - and in her book - I related most to Sean Ogle's story:
In 2009 Sean Ogle was extremely unhappy with his life. He’d been working as a financial analyst and had finally decided that enough was enough. He left his job, moved to Bangkok and spent the next seven months traveling, learning Internet marketing and figuring out how to make his newly-discovered lifestyle more permanent.
Throughout the next year, Sean realised that so many people were making online business much more complex than it needed to be and broke it down into three basic steps.
Build online skills – Learn about SEO, WordPress, Copywriting, etc.
Use one of those skills you’ve learned to make money – This provides income while you’re building your business and lets you know that you can secure clients
Begin working on your own projects
Sean’s business is built from a sweet spot of all three items mentioned as he has a blog, Location 180, a community of entrepreneurs, and an affiliate site.
While I am not extremely unhappy with my life, I am extremely unhappy with always struggling financially and working for others. I am not in the position to just up and quit my job right now, but my three priorities over the next 30 days that will move me closer towards living life on my own terms are:
Learning how to pitch and write great client proposals.
Once that's done, contacting 5-10 leads per week I've found through social media and pitching them on what I think they're doing well and what they're not, and how I can help them.
Last but not least, building my self-confidence. The quote I posted yesterday by my friend Chris Richburg of Fuck Yeah Alt Country Boys (a music blog I passed on to him) stemmed from a conversation he and I had revolving around my question, "Can I really do this?" I have a good reputation for working hard and being passionate about anything I do, so, of course, the answer is a resounding, "Yes!" But, sometimes, I still wonder. However, I think once I get people who can actually pay me interested in working with me and then doing an amazeballs job for them, I'll know that I can actually support myself and my ideal lifestyle doing what I do.
What's one of your top three priorities?
