Pictures requested by seaofsilverglass: the inspiration for my next fan dragon! I hope it turns out as well as the last one!

I was going to upload these all at the same time but then we'd be waiting forever. So at long last, the first of the blog theme dragons, for seaofsilverglass!

It's called the Stinging Whiptail (Or maybe Maned Whiptail?) until I come up with something better. These adorable babies were inspired by fennec foxes, tropical fish, and these friggin cool sea slugs and range in color from blues and greens to sunset pinks, oranges and yellows.

Size ranges from large Terrible Terror to average hunting dragon/medium-sized dog. They're social creatures, living in nests of three to seven adults. Their long, forked tails are covered in tiny scales sharp enough to cut and produce the "whip" for which they are named. They have a distinguishing mane of soft tentacles along the center of their backs; each individual tentacle is mostly translucent with a brightly-colored nerve running through its center. These growths are highly sensitive and can sting any unfortunate predator hoping for an easy meal

I haven't decided whether or not their back tentacle thingies sting humans as well because I just want to run my fingers through it.

Needless update: Much cleaning and Hogwarts AU today. I'm kind of exhausted but things are getting clearer, which is great. Getting it all down has been really beneficial. There's still bunches of stuff I'm unclear about, but it's coming along!

call this an AU because I got so absorbed in drawing his feet that I'd finished by the time I realized that He only has one and there was no way I could draw the prosthetic from that angle.
