“The more I see these pictures, the more I cannot see what’s in it. They all looked blurry, Hisa-chan.” I got curious and inspected the pictures first.
“Same goes with me, all these letters are unreadable.” Hisa decided to inspect from the other side.

Hisa’s words calmed me down.
“How about the posters above?” Hisa’s question made us both look up.
Unlike the others, the posters on the ceiling were sticked messily. I didn't know why.
“Do you think it’s a code?” Hisa put his hand on his chin.
“A code?”
“I think I can almost see numbers from them.”
“Really?” I walked towards Hisa as he raised his hand up. “That’s 1, 9, 5.”
I followed his hand’s movements and saw what he meant. “Ahhhhhh. You’re so smart, Hisa-chan!”
Hisa chuckled, “Nah, I helped other guests and it just occurred to me.”
“Well, now we just have to know where to use it.” My eyes scanned the room and landed on the bed. “Hey, Hisa-chan, there’s an album on the bed.”
“A locked album with three numbers,” Hisa smiled.
We input the number 195 and it easily opened.
Well, the album was not an album, rather a box with a scissor in it and a note: “Use me to find the key.”
“This is getting confusing,” I said, “So there is another key and another thing to open with that key. And we need scissors to find the key?”
Hisa shrugged, “That’s practically it.”
“Alright, then. Something to open with a key.” Our eyes started scanning the room again. I inspected the bed, there were drawers underneath the bed. It was filled with albums and some clothings. Again, the albums were blurry. I cannot make out anything from it.
“Don’t you think this window is weird?” Hisa inspected the door sized window.
“Very much so,” I agreed, “Can you open it?”
“There are no knobs or anything to open,” Hisa examined the window, “Which I think is good, actually.”
“Same,” I walked past Hisa to a working table, trying to find something to open. The table was made with high quality wood and was very satisfying to look at. I began to wonder if my life was that satisfying. Nothing to open with a key, though.
“Have you searched the bed?” Hisa was now inspecting the bed.
“I searched the drawers, they were full of albums.”
“Hey, I think I found something,” Hisa was lifting up the mattress as he said so.
I quickly made my way there and true, there was a keyhole on the bed frame, under the mattress. “Oh my, I never thought it would be there.” I thought of something and began to feel the mattress with my hand.
“What are you doing?” Hisa asked.
“If the keyhole is there, I thought maybe the key is in the mattress, or the blanket, or the pillow. You know, we need scissors to cut them if the key’s inside.”
Hisa nodded and started feeling the blanket. I continued with the pillow after the mattress. Soon enough, my hand felt something inside the pillow. “Um, Hisa-chan?”
“You find it?”
“I think so, can you pass me the scissors?”
The key inside the pillow was so gorgeous, carved intricately on a wood. “This key is so beautiful,” I let my creative side out.
“Yeah, you are,” Hisa replied.
I blinked a few times, processing his words. What did he mean by you are? Was it me? I was talking about the key, right? My brain was jumbled when Hisa pulled me to reality, “So, let’s try?”
I nodded and inserted the key in the keyhole. It fit perfectly, and a click sound followed. The sound didn’t come from the bed though, it was from the other side of the room, above the working table.
There was a squarish dent on the wall which wasn't there before. I took the contents out, a camera and a photo. A graduation photo of the young me. I looked at the photo and realized how long ago the graduation was, I just turned 45 so it was around 20 years ago? Wait, did I just know my age?
I saw the photo again. I was wearing a sash and it said “Koizumi Kaito” so,
“Koizumi Kaito,” Hisa announced my name, “What a lovely name you have.”
“Hisa-chan,” my eyes got teary. I’ve never been so happy to hear someone else say my name. “Yes, call me Kai.”
Hisa’s smile got wider and gosh he’s so endearing I feel like kissing him right now, but I know I shouldn’t. He helped me a lot and I didn’t want to get him into trouble. My body was shaking, I needed a distraction so I saw the other thing. A camera. I think I work with cameras, but the memory was still blurry. “Hey, Hisa-chan. I remember my name already, but I still don't know what I did with the camera. Am I a cameraman or something? I cannot remember it.”
“Take your time to remember,” Hisa reassured me, “Even I still don't remember many things about myself.”
“Really?” I got curious.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I’m really satisfied with what I remember so far. “I think I’ll call it a day. I want to explore the hotel too, you know?”

I shook my head.

I nodded with a big smile. “Let’s go,” I took his hand and left this room. I like my room, but now was the time to explore!
