"Do you want to build a snowman?"
Daenerys laughed delighted as she held her hands up to catch the snow as it fell. "I've never seen snow before!" she said, she twirled around and clutched her white fur cloak tighter about her. "Yes! Yes! Show me how to build a snowman! I've never made one before."
The Little Queen of Winterfell || Jeyne Westerling and Catelyn Stark
Oh Robb. She had little else to think or say on the matter. If you must fall into the arms of another woman, why could it not be the arms of Margary Tyrell? Margary Tyrell with all the money of the Roses and the power of Highgarden. A strong forced to contend with. If Robb must break his vow why could it not be for one such as her? Not this small little Southron girl with the family who looked ill at ease to be here, and who hailed from Lannister lands.
When Robb had returned to find the Kingslayer gone, Catelyn, from her self-imposed isolation, had prepared to explain her actions, to make her reasoning clear. She had feared Robb would be angry, expected him to be frustrated, hoped that he would understand. She had no expected to find him a man married, a wife who was no Frey. You gave him your word, Robb, but she knew the death of his brothers, their murder, had hit him as violent as it had hit herself. They had both allowed themselves to fall into grief, to allow their emotions to commit acts they would not normally have considered and so instant forgiveness had been shared between them.
Her release of the Kingslayer was put aside as was his marriage to Jeyne Westerling. Though neither could deny they were now in a much worse position, and Catelyn could not deny she dislike the Westerlings and thought Jeyne a small and frail girl for a Queen. He married her out of honour, he claimed; he had bedded her and so he had wed her. She sighed; he was still so young, and with the crown upon his head, it was sometimes easy to forget he was just a boy, just as Jeyne was just a girl.
Spying the young thing bowed over embroidery in the great hall of Riverrun, the poor girl clearly afeared as she awaited Robb's return from another Kingly duty, and Catelyn through her displeasure could not help but feel great sympathy and a maternal inclination. She walked over, and gently took her seat beside her. "May I join you?" She asked softly, her Tully eyes flickering over the embroidery, "You are quite talented"
character development meme, 26!
26. How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble?
Before the war, when they were safe and happy at Winterfell, Catelyn liked to have Ned undress her rather than her handmaids. It allowed them even more time alone together, after a long day of children and servants and duties and obligations. Catelyn is not a vain woman and so her dresses are very simply and so thankfully Ned did not have much trouble in the assisting. If her hair has been braided in the day, she unbraids it while in bed with Ned, knowing how he loves her hair. And generally speaking, an average night would involve love-making, holding one another and falling into blissful, unbroken sleep before morning.
However, in the war, after the death of Ned, her entire routine has obviously changed. She has her handmaids assist in her dress, but she doesn't speak with them very much, and the moment they have done enough to allow her to remove the rest herself she sends them away. She keeps her hair braided even when she sleeps, because travelling through the dirty roads and muddy fields, it is easier to keep it clean if it also plaited or pinned back in some way. Sleep doesn't come easy, and it is several hours of fears and haunting images floating through her mind relentlessly, before she eventually falls into a restless, nightmare-dappled sleep.
