The handmaids first job as handmaid was to get rid of the signless. however The handmaid was a huge follower of the signless and one of his biggest fans. Even though she knew how their story would end she couldn't help admiring and loving him from afar. After that she quickly became emotionless, until she found out she could visit the psiionic on the ship. They slowly got to know know each other and because quite close. But before their relationship could bloom it was wiped out by the condense.
