My Favorite Dialogue : Sam: Blaine, I was wrong. I can’t be the friend you talk about your sex life with. Blaine: I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to say all that. It just sort of came out. Sam: No, it’s ok. How about this? I can’t be the friend you talk about your sex life with until I get a sex life of my own. Blaine: But Sammy, Bas and I will be married and have 5 kids by then. 

It’s later in the day than I planned but I reached my goal of posting a chapter on each day of the Seblaine Spring Fling. Yay me!

Seblaine Spring Fling 2017 : Symphony

For as long as he could remember, Blaine loved the stage; he loved the high that came from performing, from baring his heart and soul through the music and lyrics.

While others deemed this trait of his to be attention seeking, there was always one person who supported Blaine in his passion; Sebastian.

Sebastian never made Blaine feel like he needed to slink in the shadows or to apologize for his talents, for his ambition- instead, Sebastian was always one to push Blaine to the center of the stage, right in the spotlight.

Although on paper Blaine and Sebastian seemed an unlikely match, they adored one another- and despite negativity from others regarding their relationship and Blaine’s musical career, both thrived.

While on tour, every night Blaine would sing a special song dedicated to Sebastian- and every night, like with all his other performances that pre-dated his successful career, Sebastian would be in the audience, beaming with pride.

Best Laid Plans

Blaine isn’t sure how things had gotten so out of hand. It was supposed to be just a short walk through the woods from the state park entrance to the grassy picnic area by the lake. But an hour later, he and Sebastian are still trudging their way through dense forest, cell phone coverage long since lost, and with it, their ability to navigate their way through the park trails. Neither idiot had thought to bring an actual map with them.

Butter. Check.

Three eggs. Check.

Two cups of sugar. Check.

Two cups of flour. Fuck.

Blaine looked around his kitchen to try to remember where he kept flour. He was trying to get everything set up so that when Sebastian arrived they could start baking a cake for Tina’s surprise party. Blaine’s boyfriend had suggested to just buy a custom made cake from an upscale bakery in Westerville but he argued against it saying that a cake made from scratch would be much more personal.

Blaine eventually found the flour on the highest section of a kitchen cupboard. Fortunately, he was ever the idealist about his own height and tried to reach for it on his own. Just as he was about get a solid grip on the jar containing the flour, he heard a knock at the door. Assuming it was Sebastian, he turned to yell that the door was open. It was at that moment that the flour tip over in his hand and poured itself all over Blaine.

Sweat builds along his hairline, at the base of his neck, but Sebastian knows it has nothing to do with the heat of the lights bearing down on the cafe’s little raised-platform.

There’s an impressive crowd gathered for the cafe’s weekly open mic night and Sebastian nervously looks out at the room, searching for the only one who matters; Blaine.

The bell above the cafe’s door jingles in greeting as Blaine pushes the door open, urgently striding to make his date with Sebastian on time.

His breath catches in his breastbone when his sights settle upon the figure in the middle of the room, a boy with legs that go on for days supporting a cello in between them, the spruce gleaming in the sun rays flooding the room from the ceiling-to-floor French windows. His eyes track the movements of a toned arm guiding the bow in its perpendicular gliding over the strings as slender fingers press notes on the fingerboard. The boy has his eyes closed, engrossed in the music as he had been; his body relaxed, his playing semplice but burns passion across the strings just the same. A mark of a great musician, he thinks.
