she’d already been out in the snow, and frankly it froze her toes off. they never got used to the cold, and so not soon after alethea opted for a huge blanket by the fireplace, with a book in their lap. at least there they could pretend to be enjoying the great outdoors by looking at them. she had thought she would have the place to herself, it seemed like people were either all out or sequestered to their rooms, so they were surprised when another joined them on the adjacent couch, and was even more surprised to look up to see sebastian. “if i’ve learned anything these past few years,” she says a bit absentmindedly, “is that i am not a cold weather kid.” they gave a low chuckle before leaning back into the couch to observe him. “what are you up to today? taking advantage of...whatever this is?” they indicated with their hands, to this whole experience.
