Thinking about the second fridge poll and pondering. It does seem to be more prevalent in the United States specifically. I wonder how much of it has to do with food deserts.
We usually do grocery shopping weekly, which is pretty typical of US households. But we also drive an hour to a larger city because the cost and variety (and often quality) available there vs the town we live makes it worth the cost of gas.
I'm not saying that's why we have a second fridge. It's because it's convenient. Our second fridge is mostly drinks, juices, and condiments with a secondary function of storing full pans of casseroles and other dishes prepared ahead of time to cut down on time to prepare dinner. But I am wondering if that might play into it at least a little bit.
