at first, she thought this was just like what happened during Heart’s Wake. someone causing a little chaos within the city for their own amusement. but instead of people’s emotions being messed with, it was...everything else. memories, their relationships formed here, even their physical appearance. and some...well, some were an entirely different person.
Solomon. it had been like a direct punch to the gut when she saw him. but even if it was Solomon, it was still Roman at the same time, right? at least, that was what she thought. but it wasn’t the Servant. it wasn’t that same Solomon who erased himself from both the world and the Throne of Heroes in those final moments. it was different-- he was different. and it didn’t take long for her to learn why. the overall lack of any real emotion. the way his smile seemed more empty than anything. ( not like the kind one she saw so often.) she didn’t see anything when she looked into his eyes and it was a moment of frightening understanding. it was him from when he once was alive . and while she always wondered if those words, those thoughts were true, nothing could have prepared her for learning that they were the truth. and she’s not sure how to feel about it.
and while she is conflicted, Ritsuka knows of one other who would be most affected by it all.
it’s easy to find him. once night has fallen and most of the residents are asleep, there are few places one could go to get away from it all and the beach was one such place. Ritsuka recognizes his form, hunched forwards in the sand as the waves crashed in the distance. surely he knew by now. there was no way that he did not. a quiet sigh before she closes the distance, wordlessly taking a seat in the sand nxt to him. she says nothing, simply staring at the water before sparing a glance in his direction and meeting a sight that throws her for a loop.
“ ....That’s not how you’re supposed to eat it.” is how she finally breaks the silence. Ritsuka has never once seen Goetia eat any sort of sweets whatsoever, so to find him with a tub of ice-cream was almost comcial, if not for the circumstances that undoubtly caused him to actually eat it. or, well, eat it after watching it melt off the spoon and drip back into the tub. any other time, she’d probably poke fun at it, but she has a feeling she knows exactly why he’s doing that. she’s done it a few times herself before.
