first, you think everyone younger than you isn’t very smart and that when they’re older, they’ll be easier to talk to and will understand things. then, you realize some people your own age aren’t very smart either, so you figure that everyone your age and below just doesn’t understand things yet and when you’re all older, you’ll be easier to talk to and will understand things. finally, you notice that a few people older than you aren’t very smart too. so then you realize that there are not very smart people at every age and some people will never be easy to talk to

and by not very smart you don’t mean intellectually, you mean common sense or basic human decency.

Going to a foreign country and being very polite and meeting somebody with a surprisingly extensive knowledge of your country's media and TV shows, but as you talk to them you realize they're a weirdo only into the fucking weird niche stuff
