Baby Come Back

For the possible fifth time that day Alice was pacing her cell worrying about the Rebels that had managed to escape the raid last month along with all the bad things that could be happening to her daughter. Thankfully before she could work herself into an even worse frenzy things finally seemed to start going right.

In a sudden rush of chaos a small band of masked metas appeared and started to break the prisoners out of their cells. It was disorienting and a bit confusing but Alice wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Of course there was just one problem. Jessica was still in the care of Elisabeth Sinclair and Alice wasn’t going to leave her behind. She would fight all the way up to the second in command’s office to find her daughter if she had to but that would most likely end up with her getting caught or even killed before she reached the third floor. “Ryan! Cael!” she rushed over to her fellow Rebels. “Please I need your help! I need to get Jess back. I can’t leave her here!”

An Offer You Can’t Refuse

The ride to CARMA was long, giving Alice plenty of time to process what had happened in the last few hours. From Jessica’s baby shower being interrupted but CARMA storming the base, to sending Kara and Dee to save the rebel’s data, and Amelie’s betrayal. It hurt knowing she hadn’t seen it coming in the slightest. Amelie had been such a help to the first nova lately and she had been working with the enemy the whole time. Alice hoped that someone would figure it out before she caused more damage to the rebels.

As she was lead into CARMA Alice kept her head down, although surprisingly she wasn’t brought to a cell. Instead they lead her up stairs to where the heads were stationed and into the office of Elisabeth Sinclair the second in command.

Alice regard the woman with a cautious look as she sat down across from her, Jess in her arms. Why was she here and not downstairs waiting to be dissected or put through some horrible test? “Am I getting special treatment for a reason?” she asked calmly as she glanced at the agent that had brought her here, worried they would take Jess away at any moment.

It had been a good couple of weeks since Connor’s return to C.A.R.M.A after stupidly getting himself caught by the Rebels. Getting drunk and challenging someone had not been the best plan in the world, and, on top of that, they’d used his I.D. to spring Shade from C.A.R.M.A’s prison. He was lucky he hadn’t been put down as soon as he got back to base.

The truth serum Lucien had used on him had also made him say some things he hadn’t meant to say, and he was sure he was going to be in deep shit for that too. He’d basically revealed his feelings for one of the Rebel Novas and said he’d betray C.A.R.M.A for her if he had to. That hadn’t gone down too well, but he actually seemed to get off pretty lightly. No one had really told him off yet. Connor was put back into training, and now, it seemed one of the Commanders wanted to check up on his progress and to see how things were going.

After receiving the order to go and see the Second in Command, Connor did as he was told - even if he was nervous about it - and made his way to Elisabeth’s office, escorted by a guard. Once they reached the door, the guard knocked on the door and opened it. “Connor Frayne to see you, Ms. Sinclair,” he stated, guiding Connor inside and staying close just in case.

Connor stood, feeling a little tense. “You wanted to see me?”

Crime and Punishment

“Let go!” Kelli shouted and struggled against the guard that was dragging her down the hall of the CARMA building basement with her hands cuffed behind her back. “I can walk by myself you know!” The brute had showed up at her apartment that morning, saying she was being taken in for questioning about the recent incident with Clark.

The meta was taken into a room she unfortunately knew too well.  When she had first arrived at CARMA she had spent more than enough time here so they could persuade her to become part of the meta squad. “Here she is Ms. Sinclair,” the guard told the Second in Command. A chill ran through Kelli as she saw the blonde woman. She was in serious trouble if the Second was involved.
