Kaden North.
- - - - Present Day; Las Vegas, Nevada - - - - There were many upsides that Chase had when it came to drinking; the first being his ability to sleep soundlessly through the night. Sure, the hangover the next morning was always a bitch, but he’d always have at least a 12 hour deep sleep. It was true, that was his favorite thing about drinking, but it hadn’t been the reason he had become an alcoholic not too long ago. That brought him to his second favorite part about drinking. Drinking until he could forget, for even just a little while, everything that was going on around him. After the break-up between him and his girlfriend of five years, he had turned to alcohol to cope. He went hard on the liquor, having it first thing in the morning to before he went to bed. It had been such a bad habit for the then twenty-two year old and the press hadn’t failed to notice his behavior. Over the course of three months, he had been photographed partying it up in the top notch clubs in California at least a dozen different times. Not to mention the DUIs he had gotten. Chase Donovan as quickly getting a bad name for himself. It was part of why he had come to Phoenix, Arizona in the first place, at the request of his mother. To step out of the spotlight for a little while, while being under the care of his much older brother, Reyes. The only time he was even allowed to leave the house was to go to rehab, and though Chase had protested, saying he was “fine”, it was arranged exactly like that. Little did he know though, that going to Phoenix would be the best decision that would ever be made for the young male. Phoenix had treated him well the past three years he’d been living there. He met real friends for the first time since he was a kid, he met and got to actually know his fans, and even recently opened up his own animal shelter with his roommate. Who would ever imagine that Chase Donovan would live a nice and cozy life in Phoenix while taking care of animals? He surely didn’t, that was for sure. But, his life was perfect at that moment. Or, at least he thought it was. Little did he know, that the day ahead of him held some unexpected twists that were not ever in his plan. The dark haired male could’ve slept all day, if not for the sudden shaking that interrupted his sleep. “Mm?” Chase mumbled, still half asleep. He could’ve sworn he heard a noise, but he still refused to let the morning - or was it afternoon by now? - win, dragging him out of that dream he had been having. Pulling the blankets back over him, sleep once again overcame him, but it didn’t last long. Not when someone began to talk again. He buried his head deeper into his pillow, wanting whoever it was to just go away and leave him to sleep. But, hearing the words, he took a few moments to process it. Hubby? Honeymoon? His eyes suddenly popped open and once his brown hues adjusted to the bright morning sunlight sneaking in through the curtain, he looked up into the face of Kaden North. Ignoring the pain shooting through his head from the hangover, he propped himself up on his elbows, before positioning himself in a sitting position. “Wha…?” The question came out in disbelieve. This was a dream right? Yeah it had to be. But, as the memories from the previous night replayed in his mind, he realized that it wasn’t a dream. They had been on a mission to find Kaden’s parents. But then, how did they end up Vegas? He could remember them getting on the plane, both of them excited for the big trip ahead of them. What made them think that going to Vegas was a smart idea in the first place? Checking into the hotel, the two then began to drink at one of the bars in the hotel. He couldn’t remember much after that. He could vaguely remembering gambling, but he had been almost gone at that point. The rest of the night was a blur for the male. When, and more importantly, how did the marriage happen? What would the press say when they get ahold of this? He could already see the headlines now: Chase Donovan married in Las Vegas. Who’s the mysterious guy? Then, the article would go on to his bisexual side of him that he had kept personal for so long. He hadn’t realized he was into both men and women until shortly after his break up with Katherine, when getting drunk and making out with a random dude there. He had been so good at burying that secret, but there was no way that this would ever be hidden. What would his mom say after hearing this? Unsuccessful this time, Chase let out a groan as he could already imagine the conversation his mother and him would have after she called him. She’d call him irresponsible and go on and on about how he shouldn’t be drinking anymore, and, no doubt about it, try to get Reyes to convince him that going to rehab - again - would be good for him. It wouldn’t though, it wasn’t like he had a problem anymore, it was just supposed to be one innocent night out with his friend. Innocent, yeah right. “You don’t think we actually… you know, right?” Chase began bewilderedly, bringing his hand to back of his neck, rubbing gently. It was a habit he had picked up over the years when he was nervous, but truth be told, he didn’t know why he was so nervous. Usually, if gotten into a situation like this, he’d look at it as a new adventure. And while he knew that this proved to be no different, he couldn’t help but to look at the con side of this: what if this would break their friendship? Chase hadn’t found too many real friends in his life, especially during his time in Los Angeles. Moving to Phoenix, he had found a handful of people who actually cared about him, the person behind Chase Donovan. Kaden North had been among one of those people, and he cherished their friendship dearly. But getting married? What if this would wedge them apart? “Holy sh*t,” Chase mumbled as he finally spotted the ring on his hand before he got the chance to run his fingers through his messy hair. The ring was just a confirmation of Kaden’s story about them being husbands. Who would ever have expected that? Definitely not Chase. “Maybe we didn’t actually get eloped,” Chase said hopeful, though he didn’t actually believe it. He threw the covers aside and got out of bed, his bare feet hitting the carpet. He had no shirt or pants on, but luckily, he still had his plaid boxers on. That didn’t mean anything though, Chase usually slept in his boxers every night, so he had probably took them off like normally or had gotten too hot in the middle of the night. He looked around to find his jeans from the previous night and started to pull them on. “We’ll just go back down to the chapel and find out. They’ll have to remember two guys who had gotten married while being completely lit, right? That’s kind of hard to forget….” he trailed off, wanting to laugh. In any other situation, he probably would’ve, and he knew that one day, he and Kaden would laugh about the time they got drunk and eloped in Vegas, but for right now, he just wanted to find out if he was now a husband or not. He tugged his shirt on over his head before he began to walk toward the door of their room. “You coming or not, hubby?” He asked, a smirk playing on his face for the first time that morning.
