Here’s a quick breakdown reel I threw together.

As I have listed below in an earlier post, I was involved in every aspect of the film, I personally oversaw / quality checked every piece of animation, and I storyboarded and key animated 25+ out of the 32 shots you see in the final film (not counting all of the shots that were cut out). So I didn’t feature all of the shots I made, just some of the ones which I though turned out well.

Merging live action with animation. Animated in Adobe Animate, composited in After Effects. I imported the ping sequence into Animate, drew the effects on frame by frame in a new layer. I re-exported the PNG sequences and added the glow effect in after effects. I couldn't find much more that I could do to composite the two layers. Fun fact: the pen I am using in the video is the same one I used to animate the effects!

Here it is! The film at last. There are some adjustments I will make before making it fully public but for now i am quite pleased with the result! I birthed the overall story idea, created the character designs, environment designs, I storyboarded it all and I created all of the parts where she is in the natural world. Radu Carstean created and animated the opening scene and all of the shots with the mum in the house. Huge special thank you to our major inspirations!!:

This is a collection of all of the scenes that i created which can be seen in the final film. I also did things like direct it, storyboard, picked the music, designed the characters and sets, edited it, added the titling.

this was going to be a backdrop leyout for an extra shot of the baloon ride but it ended up working without it so I didn't pursue it further
