Edmonton’s new established community of Secord had a busy and successful year. Three additional stages in the community were serviced with the final stages, 4E, 4F and 3G slated to be serviced in 2015. The stage 4A pond landscaping was completed in the fall and is a scenic and serene natural amenity to be enjoyed by families and wildlife alike. Secord was home to over 165 third party sales in 2014, a true testament of a community with great value, perfect location and well-respected home builders.

New Front Garage Show Homes Kickoff Summer in Secord

The first day of summer, Saturday, June 21, was kicked off with a bang by the Hopewell Residential team hosting the Grand Opening of Secord’s Front-Garage Show Home Parade, including the opening of two brand new Sabal Homes by Hopewell show homes.

The summer solstice themed event, in west Edmonton’s friendliest community, saw over 300 visitors come out and enjoy mini sliders, children’s activities, Hopewell soccer ball giveaways, and tours of Secord’s six new garage show homes from award winning builders Jayman Master Built, and Prominent Homes and Sabal Homes by Hopewell.

Sabal’s newest show home line-up in Secord includes the Reflex, in a stunning “Concrete and Pearl” inspired décor that was featured on the November cover of New Home and Condo Living magazine, and an “Ivy League” inspired Vasi2 that takes on a scholarly approach to style.

Sabal Chalet Introduced in Secord 

On September 20th Sabal by Hopewell unveiled their latest Chalet townhome project in Secord located in Edmonton’s popular west end. Secord Chalet boasts customizable floorplans, 9’ ceilings, numerous finishing options, oversized windows and stainless steel appliances. The 101 customizable townhomes are the Sabal multifamily division’s first foray into the Edmonton market.

New Laned Show Homes Open in Secord 

Secord’s brand new laned show home parade was unveiled Saturday, September 27th featuring Innovations by Jayman and Sabal Homes by Hopewell. Guests enjoyed fall-themed snacks and apple cider, children’s activities, giveaways, and tours of the six brand new show homes.

Sabal Homes was extremely excited to launch our new laned show home line-up featuring 3 homes, each with a unique interior décor style. The Skagen2 at 1,457 sq.ft. is shown in a Coastal Cool décor style and showcases a bright, open-concept main floor with a rear kitchen looking out into the back yard, while the upper floor shows 3 large bedrooms, and compromises nothing when it comes to the luxurious master retreat. The ever-popular Precise at 1,578 sq.ft. has a unique plan, keeping the living area separate from the kitchen and dining room, which are open to each other – optimal for entertaining; this home is shown in an Urban Rustic décor style. Lastly, the never-seen-before Alto show home – Sabal’s largest laned home model with three-stories. Shown in a Salt Spring décor style, this home’s amazing design has everything you need, a tech zone on the main floor, upper floor laundry and a loft on the third floor with its own balcony.  

Despite the chilly weather, everyone was pleased with the great turnout and are excited to see sales materializing directly from the event.

Secord's Newest Family

Secord's first bronze statue was unveiled to the residents on September 27th at an event hosted by Hopewell Residential’s Erin McGregor, Housing Marketing Manager and Brett Friesen, Senior Manager Community Development. Secord’s statue gives a home to its newest long-term residents, a family of geese; appropriate as they will look out over a beautiful wetland area for generations to come. They honour the natural beauty of this area, and embody Secord’s family-friendly spirit. We are proud to give them a home in Secord.
