Re: your tags on that post about villains being ugly and stuff... so the Denouements are a f*** you to this concept since they look and dress identical and have one ‘villain’ and two ‘heroes’

see it’s not that the denouements are ugly it’s that they’re all pretty normal bc that’s how you blend in by being normal and if the kids are told to tell based on looks and mannerisms, and they’re all the same, then how do they? If anything that’s why klaus trusts Ernest bc ernest is super nice to him and treats him with respect so that can’t be evil. ernest uses his earnestness to his advantage. but maybe the villains and noble peeps think the same thing, which is why people can trust ernest, or not trust frank, or trust frank and not trust ernest. ya know. we all thinking nice = good don’t tell me you haven’t. I know I have. that’s how I ended up with shitty roommates twice I trusted nice equals good but nope

like I said I was doing inktober bc I need to get back into drawing so here it is. in order it’s ring, mindless, bait, freeze, build, and husky. I think they’re kinda obvious but I’ll explain what scenes I was thinking. I’ll be posting these on sundays.

1) so for ring I did a denouement bell as “wrong,” I’m not too happy with the hands but that’s what happens when you don’t draw for literally 6 weeks. I shall persevere

2) mindless is based on the miserable mill with the mind control. the exit sign didn’t come out too well but I like how the shadows are.

3) bait is the banana from the wide window lol

4) freeze is kinda out there bc I know like frozen is obvious but I thought it’d be more interesting to do a different kind of freeze so this was the kids heckin trapped in the last chance convenience store. I forgot klaus’s pants.

5) build is sunny building a card tower except I messed up the cards. she a squishy baby tho

6) chabo but husky

the more I think about it the more I think ernest was forced into the position of being a firestarter to protect the hotel and his family, because if the hotel protected both firefighters are starters, then it will never be burned. frank ernest and dewey have made a solemn decision that they have to betray each of their values to protect their family and what’s left. they probably make trade offs and deals where they provide needed information to each other, anything to stay alive and safe. 

I think ernest was probably an enthusiastic firestarter but, much like fernald, as he grew older and reevaluated his actions, he wanted to escape. he’s stuck. they all are.

I haven’t been able to make any like. follower milestone posts because I keep gaining new followers (and so quickly). I’m nearly at 140 rn, that’s 50~ followers since I came back in december

hey so headcanon that Ernest’s first name actually starts with a v like Victor or Valentino or Vaughn or Vincent, and it’s a family name that his father and the fathers before him had, but (his parents always living for drama) named their children VFD. Ernest is his middle name.

Growing up, he was always called Ernest or Ernie or E. He detests his first name, but it’s what connects him to his father.
