Early morning, the G- force x2 and the wonder twins decided to work on some math, the boy wonder decided to sort laundry while I got breakfast in order. Happy Friday.

I post a lot of the good shit, I love homeschooling, my kids love it and we are generally a happy go lucky family, but its not always, sprinkles, rainbows and unicorns. I often worry that I am not an adequate teacher. I yell too freakin much, and my kids and I are sometimes jerks to each other, because hey, we’re human. Our first week back to full time homeschooling schedule after our summer schedule, was rough, but this morning has been particularly productive. I think its because public schools are not back in session, and their neighborhood friends are outside playing when they are getting work done. But after some tears, some tantrums, and yes yelling (did I mention I yell too much) we got through it. It's all good though, they will be happy when we go on our late summer vacay, and we’re in San Francisco for a week when other kids are just back to school. And after all the good, the bad, and the ugly we still love each other.

For the most part we have been reading "Howard Zinn's A Young Peoples History." We put it down for a while and studied Black History for Black History Month, and then we had Spring Break and all sorts of random things that thwarted us picking up where we left off. But today we got back to it. Grace was so inspired from our upcycle fashion show from our home school meet up. She came home and made a no sew skirt and matching capelet from a T shirt. #upcylefashion #homeschoolwin #secularhomeschoolers #creativelearning #fashionista

Homeschooling recycle fashion show at the Montclair Public Library, we learned what upcycling and recycling are and made no sew T shirt dresses, and then worked the runway.
