You know that lovely feeling when a previously dark and too-murky-to-approach-on-a-busy-day phenomenon suddenly looks obvious? That feeling when air starts flowing in and sunshine triumphantly appears? This is what happened at the talk given by Anat Admati, Professor of Finance from Stanford. The sunrays were there. Not just because she came straight from sunny California. But because of her brilliant understanding of the banking world and her fearless approach to muddy dealings. Like Christine Lagarde, Anat Admati exuded power. She was wearing an ivory silk blouse and a perfectly fitting charcoal suit. She took no prisoners. As an opera singer, I give her 10/10 for handling her audience. The intensity, focus and sheer truth behind her performance were faultless.
There I was, witnessing an eye-opening seminar about how present banking works and what can be done so it would actually, properly work. Professor Admati infected us with ideas of no-nonsense and transparency. I love simple, clear and powerful things and so I love working for mkryptor, the no-nonsense protection for confidential emails. I admire people who de-myth myths and de-urbanise legends. They make you breathe easier. I wish I had shares in Anat’s new book. Do go and buy it and I promise you will feel better for it.
I have another idea for fresh air. This one involves going out, standing by The Tower of London and displaying a placard with the logo of your company. You can only do it if your company promotes cyber security, something many are still not aware of and too many choose to be complacent about. Take part in the Security Serious Week.
