Discover Your Career Path at School
Can’t wait to start your life as an independent adult? Want a career that is all about making a positive, meaningful impact on the lives of others? You don’t have to wait to start down your chosen career path! SEDA courses are available from Year 11 and Year 12 to give you the best possible start to your sports career.
With SEDA courses, your sports career can start today
Unlike traditional high schools, SEDA offers vocational education – training that is designed to develop the necessary skills needed in a specific industry. Our focus is on the sports and recreation industry, a thriving space where the skills we offer are in high demand. SEDA courses set you on a specific career path where you can become a coach, team manager, athlete development specialist, community outreach planner, events planner and much more.
These courses are not just theory and lectures – we combine traditional learning with hands-on application and opportunities to learn from leading sports, recreation and leisure specialists as well as high-performance organisations. This allows you to create a strong professional network and access quality work placement opportunities in Australia and abroad.
Our classrooms are set up at quality sporting, recreation and community facilities, and we partner with industry bodies including top professional sports teams and coaches to ensure that you only learn from the best. There’s simply no more effective way to turn your passion for sports into a successful and meaningful career.
Want to study further? No problem!
If you want to specialise your career path further or move into an adjacent industry or field, completing your SEDA courses will give you direct entry into universities and other tertiary learning institutions. These include Victoria University, La Trobe, Federation, ACU and Holmesglen.
In fact, 61% of our students choose to study further with an undergraduate university degree, while 27% go directly into employment. A further 6% go into apprenticeships and 3% study further through RTO/TAFE.
