Thandiroq sat at the bar, waiting, his eyes closed as he revisited the scene of Blair receiving her gift. His body was filled with a warmth he only ever felt when he was with her, with them. Dragon Force. He basked in that feeling for a little while longer as he sat there, then he heard her call his name. Thandiroq had been debating on whether or not he would inform the guild of his leaving or just leave a note, finally he decided on the best course of action. As Blair stood there talking to him, he knew he made the right choice. Of course, he didn’t really need to say anything to her, she could already tell. Maybe it was cause he wasn’t wearing his usual armor, carrying his shield and sword or that his long snowy white hair was now cut to half its usual length and looked as though he had just been through a hurricane. No matter what it was that hinted at his intention, he still told her what he had decided upon. “I’m leaving, on a pilgrimage to Feralas. I don’t know when or if... I’ll be back.” Not once did he wear a pained or sorrowful expression, his voice full of warmth and sincere happiness. “I must go to find my place in this changing world and to perhaps, find myself.” He looked into the Paladin’s eyes and smiled wide. “You’ve been inspiring me to improve ever since you arrived here, in such a short time you’ve shown me that there is so much more. Now it is my turn, to become more.”
Thandiroq gave Blair a parting gift, a means of being able to keep in contact with him if she needed. “You know, all I’ve ever wanted of you, was to be happy.” He now stood before Blair and peered down into her eyes. “It’s what I wish for all of you.” He leaned down and gently kissed Blair on her forehead. “Take care of them, stay strong and above all us, be happy. May Elune shine upon you and lighten your path.” Those were his final words to Blair as he exited the Dragon Heart Inn, his course now leading to Feralas, his goal to grow and prove to himself worthy of being called Champion and to grow stronger in order to protect his family.
Upstairs, inside of his room and laying upon his bed was Thandiroq’s armor, sword and shield. Crafted out of the set his mother wore in another lifetime, the tools that had carried him to this point. Next to them was an envelop and inside a letter: “Blair, I leave behind the past, so that I may walk into the future unhindered. If for some unseen reason I do not reach it, I lose my path or my time ends, please return these to my mother. I have every intention of returning, but even the noblest of dreams and stubborn filled minds can be waylaid by chance. Thank You.”
