Memories, a dream and a vision?
Thandiroq had told his new companion, Nebby, of every adventure he had been on with his guild. Every foe they had faced and obstacle they overcame, while on the trip to Feralas, all but one. The one time, where they could not claim victory, did not overcome the obstacle, the one time they could not save someone. Even thinking of that day, brought pain to his very being, “If I was only stronger!” He thought as he looked out over the water, standing upon the deck of the ship that carried him on his new course. He took a deep breath and let out a long sigh as he made his way back to the cabin and readied himself for slumber. Hoping that a good night's rest would clear his mind and ease his pain.
Thandiroq stood beside her, the fiery spirited Warlock, as a force of undead came at them. Both standing their ground to protect a lost wizard, fighting off wave after wave of the abominations until none stood any longer. They stood together, an unstoppable force. Now he was in Darkshore, not far from the destroyed town of his birth, Auberdine. He had traveled to the lands in order to speak with his long deceased family at their grave. An ambush was awaiting for him, planned by his father in an attempt to finish what was started oh so many years ago. He heard her voice call out, through the battle he heard her, leading the others on, for him, to rescue him. He found a strength he had not thought he possessed as he broke free of his bonds, Joining in the fight to rid the world of the foul Satyrs that stood before them. That was when his heart began to be drawn to her, every moment he was with her was like wakening to a living dream of pure bliss. She stood before him, as he kneeled, commending him for his successful attempt at the Champion’s Trial. Her eyes showing her pride at what he had accomplished and the love that she had come to known for him. Now they where in Darnassus, before the moonwell in the Temple of Elune, she was hesitant at being there, so near to the font of power. “Elune has brought us together, given us the gift of happiness. We are blessed.” He spoke softly to the woman, as he slowly slid her hand into the pool, almost instantly her eyes changed from the usual yellow to a glowing silver. He wrapped his arms around the woman and hugged her tightly, “Truly we are blessed.” Within the safety of the Inn, they stood by the bar, caressing each other, prodding each others lips and speaking sugar filled words. Thandiroq smirked as he reached down picked the woman up, lifting her easily into his arms. “This is me, making the first move.” He then carried her up the stairs, where they spent their first night, as one. Hallow’s Eve was upon them, as was her birthday and Thandiroq had planned a special gift for his love. A bracelet, made from a crystal he held dear to his heart, fashioned into a crescent moon. Within the grasp of the crescent was placed a diamond, shaped into the likeness of a star. An inscription on the inside of the bracelet read, “In this life and the next, I will be with you always. Dalah...”
The pain on her face, in her eyes, the sound of her crying voice as she yelled out, stung him more than the blade that pierced his back and exited his stomach. The wound, though serious would not prove to be fatal, as for her cousin that gave his life willingly for her... his time was at an end. It was on that day, a road to an even greater loss and pain began. Nothing could bring her back to him, she was slowly distancing herself from him, the others, from everything. Thandiroq said he would travel beside her, always be with her, no matter what she needed. His love for her would have him following her to death and beyond. And now they stood on the opposite side of an impenetrable barrier, Thandiroq, Aisleen, Shonsun and the others, so close to the woman yet so very far. Thandiroq called out, roared in anger and pain at what he was witnessing. As the woman rushed towards the group, a dark power began to pull at her, dragging her to Elune knows where and she was gone. Suddenly, Thandiroq was alone, his vision was blackened, he could not see anything around him, hear nothing around him. Yet, he could feel something, a cold bite, a chill enclosing around him. Finally something caught his eye, a feint light floating around him, though he could not make out what it or who it was. Then a voice spoke to him causing his eyes to widen in surprise. “In this life and the next, You will be with me always.” As it spoke, it took form, slowly it revealed itself to him as the woman he loved, devoted his very being to, to the one he would follow for all time. “Is it you, can it be you? I’ve missed you so much.” The spectre smiled as it moved closer to Thandiroq, slowly taking a more physical form. Thandiroq smiled as he moved closer to the woman, a single tear falling from his eye. “This life and the next. I will be with you always...” Now the figure shifted, no longer was it the woman that Thandiroq had once known before him, now stood a figure draped in dark robes, a scythe upon its back and a mask made of bones, even with the vision of death now before him, he smiled. “Dalah’ Kal.”
“Rock, Rock, ROCK!” Nebby’s voice called out to him, as she shook his body. His eyes flashing open as he looked at the woman before him. “What... what?” His eyes began to scan the cabin, looking for signs of worry. “Rock, you were dreaming... or having a nightmare.” Nebby looked down to him with a worried expression. “You were calling out a name, first it sounded like you spoke it with joy, a warm and carrying tone. Then you started calling it out with a sense of pain and sorrow... and fear.” Thandiroq stared blankly at Nebby. “It was her, wasn’t it, the one from the stories? Your star, this B...” Thandiroq stretched out a hand to silence Nebby. “It was just a dream, I am sorry if I worried you, everything is fine.” He lowered his hand, placing it onto Nebby’s that was still upon his shoulder from trying to wake him. “Thank you, for looking out for me. For worrying about my safety.” He smiled warmly at the Kaldorei. Then both of their ears perked up as they heard a voice calling out from above. “Land ho!” Then both rushed out of the cabin to clamor onto the deck of the ship, a smile coming to both of their faces. There was Feralas. Thandiroq looked upon the shores of his next destination as a thought came to him. “What was that?” The memory of the dream still fresh on his mind as he looked out over the water.
