WEEK THREE POSTING!
Notes and Seedbook/journal entries from this week! This week I mostly focused on experimenting with collages/exquisite corpses and other sketches, but I’ve also been able to do a little bit of observational research while watching different movies that dealt with some of my topics. I watched “Perfect Blue” (an animated thriller/horror movie about a former pop idol turned actress losing her mind as she loses her image), “Being John Malkovitch” (an absurdist movie about...learning to be yourself??? But mostly about John Malkovitch), and “Queens and Cowboys: A Straight Year on the Gay Rodeo” (a documentary about a rodeo circuit made for and by the LGBT community). Taking these little visual notes has been a huge help in my research so far, and I plan to do more of these studies in the future! I’m still interested in doing direct research (sketching, making, collaging, etc.) and I’ve only recently gotten access to the ceramics studio again so I’m going to try and maybe start doing work/explorations over there sometime this week. Mostly though, I think I need to start leaning into researching sources that can help inspire me to go in a specific direction. I’ve already got a few books about gay cowboys I ordered from the library so we shall see! I think it’ll also help me to keep this blog updated more frequently, so I can keep track of progress and feel a little bit more accomplished.

I just realised that when I was little I used to go to my best friend's house (also my first girl crush) pretty much everyday and we'd make food together and on several occasions we just, ate violets? Like one time we put them on chocolate mousse pie or something but I also have memories of just, eating violets? Straight up popping little purple flowers into our mouths? And we used to do our own little pieced together version of witchcraft together? And from what I can tell she's still a witch now (or at least uses it as an aesthetic)? I mean Through some sequence of magical events did I somehow cast The Gay upon myself, is that how this happened

Choosing the type of book you want to write may not be a decision you are aware that you need to make, but it is. There are many different types of non-fiction business book that you could write; I have identified around seven but I’m sure there are more.
