From a narrative standpoint, I always saw Molly leveling up as him rediscovering something lying dormant in him, rather than unlocking new skills. I remember him talking about his powers as ‘something I could just...do?’ If that’s the case, it makes complete sense to me that he goes from Level 5 when he died, to about LVL 12-13(?) Especially if Molly (the character, not the player) is accidentally using new skills on pure instinct. Imagine: the M9 with a resurrected Molly get into a fight, Molly uses a crazy Bloodhunter thing he had NO idea he had. And he’s just excitedly/terrified “WELL THAT’S NEW!?”
