A young boy entered the room. Black hair and blue eyes the boy seemed unable to see his surroundings as he started forward. Avoiding tables, desks, and other such obstacles he made his way unhindered to an old arm chair situated near a pair of dark mahogany doors. Sitting down and leaning back the boy closed his eyes. Moving around he made as if to sleep; the boy appeared to be wearing a night gown and a pair of small black shoes, that reflected the little light left in the room. Tears silently fell from the boys eyes, as a flash of light came in through the windows. It had started to rain. The boy could hear it hitting the doors and windows and feel the breeze as wind found its way in between the cracks in the doorway.
A few hours past and the boy seemed to be sound asleep, dry tears shining on his face in the moonlight as the storm raged on. Just as the boy started to drift to sleep, he opened his eyes wide as he heard something that stood out from the roaring wind that rattled the front doors and windows. Standing up slowly and moving cautiously, the boy neared the door way. A faint knocking sound seemed to be coming from it. Something must be on the other side, but who or what could be here at such an hour; were the boy’s only thoughts as he reached his hand up to unbolt the door. Carefully turning the handle, he held on tight so that the wind would not throw him off balance; he opened the door.
The boy was shocked by what he saw. A young girl stood before him as the door slide from his hands to crash into the wall from the force of the wind and rain. The girl fell through the open door way as if unable to stand any longer. Catching her, the young boy quickly carried her to the arm chair he had been in only moments before. Noticing the roaring wind and rain still pounding through the doorway he quickly rushed to stop it as it threatened to send him to the ground. Bolting the now closed door, the boy walked back to the arm chair and saw that the girl lay fast asleep within it; her head was gently resting to one side, her silver hair was neatly braided but her neck and arms seemed bruised and blood dripped down onto her dress and the floor. All was silence in the darkness.
Waking up Emil found himself on his own bed on the third floor of his family’s estate. Looking up at the familiar wood ceiling he could see steady light coming through the open window. He continued to gaze fixedly for several minutes as the light crawled across the ceiling. Trying to remember how he had got there he soon realized that there must have been some mistake. How could he be alive, and what was that dream he was having? He had been attacked by a black monster and ripped to pieces, did someone save him? As he continued to ponder he finally remembered the girl in the white dress that was seated at the ancient stone table.
Emil: Marta must have been able to save me.
Emil’s mind: But how could she have known that he was in trouble?
He decided to let the matter rest; he would bring it up later when everything had settled. Right now he needed to get up and make sure he was in one piece. Very slowly Emil started to lift his head and made to remove his covers when he stopped with a bit of astonishment. She was there, right next to him, the girl from his dream. Marta was sleeping on a chair leaning against his bed. Head resting on the sheets her long blond hair was tide back into an elegant pony tail.
