HELP WANTED!
Howdy fandom friends! I am looking for a beta!
As of right now, I don't have a beta - I basically just fucking vibe it and hope for the best. But one of my goals for the upcoming year is to be more organized, especially since I know my real world job is going to be much more demanding, especially in the first half of the year.
What I'm looking for:
Task management assistance - I am someone who needs an external source to keep me accountable. So this would mean helping me stay on schedule (lovingly nagging me, basically)
Proofreading ! My biggest offense is just leaving words out of sentences, often times prepositions are omitted so the sentence still makes sense but it's clunky and can rip you out of the scene (and it always makes me cringe when I go back and re-read things the next morning after posting, as is my routine, and I hate it but am too lazy to go back and fix it)
HTML tagging. I don't know if it's just me/in my head, but I feel like content on ao3 looks so much nicer when you use plain text with html tags as opposed to using their rich text editor and letting the tags appear on their own. I feel like the spacing comes out all weird that way. However, I also hate writing in the tags so ideally, while you proofread, if I have something in italics for example, you'll write in the

This is negotiable! While I'm shit at beta'ing my own work, that's a process issue but I actually love editing other people's work. I was the editor-in-chief of both the school newspaper and the literary magazine many moons ago, and I wrote other people's essays for money in college. So I'd be happy to beta for you in return! If you aren't really a writer, I'm happy to write special content just for you as a gift. Or some other third option that you feel is appropriate - my whole point is, I believe people's time is valuable and I would want you to feel valued for your contribution; nothing is free and I'm not looking for a handout!
