“You could close your eyes and you wouldn't have to worry what people said because you never belonged here anyway and nobody could make you sad and nobody would think you're strange because you like to dream and dream. And no one could yell at you if they saw you out in the dark leaning against a car, leaning against somebody without someone thinking you are bad, without somebody saying it is wrong, without the whole world waiting for you to make a mistake when all you wanted, all you wanted, Sally, was to love and to love and to love and to love, and no one could call that crazy.”

The House on Mango Street

Sitting beneath the trees
Trying to understand.
Timidly taking my first steps
Into the life I couldn't imagine.
Anxiety about the future.
Never sure just what is in store.
Yearning to keep on moving
Never settling again.
Will: Hey Nico? Would you ever write letters with me?
Nico: I- why?
Will: It’s the asthetic
Nico: But we literally see each other every day
Will: Please?🥺
Nico: Ugh, fine. But don’t tell Hazel. She’ll get jealous and want to write me too
Anger is how we desperately try to coerce or manipulate someone or ourselves into meeting our needs. Authentically, anger is our sadness over where another or ourselves or the world has failed us! Desperate to be recognized - RECOGNIZED in our innocence - and soothed by finally having those needs met with the peace and giving that should have been there to protect our hearts and bodies and minds in the first place. We are living in a time of detachment from source, from livelihood - compassion and understanding. Anger is the shell of grief, break your shell. Anger leads to Abuse, abuse is the misuse of power. Release your expectations of others or society, and hold yourself. When you do this, even if the world isn't ready to hug you back - you will be held, over and over again.
For every time I outsourced my anger as a solution, I manipulated the truth of my suffering. No more - no more - no more. We are all capable of recieving the gift of solace. it is why the yogis turned to nature in the first place and returned to spread the love of Gaia onto the people. Do not be fooled, all else is temporary relief.
The antonym of abuse is care. Care for yourself, and usurp the allure of anger by letting the truth underneath suffering care for you. Acceptance, faith, gratitude, and finally peace.
We are often angry, but we are not our anger. We are hurt, but we are not our hurt. We are all so much more than that.
We are a thing of beauty, waiting to be unearthed.
