Kimberly hasn't had many genuine connections. She was well liked, an overachiever even in her social calendar, but she'd never really felt seen. It could be hard for her to let her walls down now, to show what she perceived as weakness.

She shrugs, "to be honest...sometimes I don't know how else to be." This much was true, but now things were a bit different. Now she had a group of friends -- real friends.

And it was easy to be around Trini, Kimberly didn't feel the need to perform when she was around her. No matter her own reservations, she did believe Trini's words. "But thank you. I guess old habits die hard -- or whatever."

Caroline was surprised that Katherine was talking to her, let alone asking her for a favor. Surely the other vampire knew that she wasn’t going to put up with her nonsense any longer. The blonde folded her arms across her chest as she flicked a cool eyebrow up at Katherine. “And tell me exactly why you think I would help you after everything you’ve done?” Caroline had no reason to trust Katherine, certainly not after the other woman had turned her and used her against her will. Caroline knew better now and she wasn’t about to let Katherine try something like any of that again.
