Had my first official field day of the season last Wednesday. I was helping my coworker sample aquatic invertebrates from seeps. I'm learning a lot about underground water seeps! 

The first two pictures are the first two seeps we sampled from and are two very different looking seeps!! The first was just a small whole under a bunch of leaves with water coming out and the second was more like a little stream coming out of a neat looking hole in the side of a ditch. We also found a red-backed salamander at another seep.

It was super cold out (28-36 F) hence the gloves in the second picture. I should get some pictures of our samples later this week!

i hear y'all talking about baculums, and want to mention that SEEPS (southeastern evolutionary perspectives society, a small new conference) had a powerpoint roulette that was titled "Baculum to the future: make america brachiate again" and it was the funniest damn thing lol
