Toady we were walking into Coles to get some groceries. To our joy a young woman we had been helping on our Walks on Sundays and sometimes a Wednesday evening . We had not seen her for about a year and were concerned about her as she was pregnant and living on the streets . We are pleased to say that she has had a very healthy baby and is now safely in her own little house , and has been there for over a year . This is so great to see results of peoples committed work with these walks and support. Thank you again to so many of you who put time aside . It really makes a difference, even when things look pretty bleek on the streets. #seetheneedmakeadifference

Big thank you Tara Sherwood and this amazing group from The Rotoract side of Rotary for asking us to come talk to your team. Was great to give insight on the homelessness within and around Our city and how they could get involved. Thank you all for your contributions of care pack items and great team effort of workshop on how to make up packs and simple approach when seeing someone who has need. After we left we were walking back to the car park and were able to sit with a young woman and able to give her one of the new pair of shoes, a sleeping bag and care packs we had taken for show and tell. A beenie and scarf a pair of warm socks. Her face lit up and we both got hugs in return. She had informed us she was thinking of ending it tonight... but she changed her mind. Great news. . Just before we got to the car park we stopped and sat with a beautiful young fella separate from the mob . Someone had just stolen all his stuff in his back pack. We had another warm sleeping bag insert socks and scarf left and offered it. He teared up asking if we were giving them to him . Such a great surprise to end the night with an empty bag we took . Very good exercise to carry the full laden bag over the shoulder. It hurt , it was heavy and a reality of every homeless persons life. #phsg #seetheneedmakeadifference (at Rotary of Perth)
What a great team. Big hearts and love. Again a big group waiting for us. Thank you to our wonderful people who make sandwiches boiled eggs and those fresh warm Chicken and mayo rolls. The bananas and fruit . Today we again were almost cleaned out of the food packages and needed to go purchase some more water. All the womens undies from 10 - 16 went. Rain, hail , wind shine. It's sometimes a challanging shift for our outreach teams on foot in Perth City on Sunday morning . But it's just so much worse if the street is your home. Damp and wet blankets and clothes, coughs and colds, Staf-infections and some who are pregnant. No sleep, no shelter. No long term answers. But knowing that a few get some comfort and information about services is the very thing that many say is the reason they can get to another day . #phsgcitywalks #seetheneedmakeadifference
