So since I've been buying more Dreamcast and Saturn games as of late, I figured I'd invest in one of these machines. I read many glowing reviews. I read many negative reviews. This isn't a review per se, but these are my quick thoughts on this thing. First off, if you do want to buy this machine, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST. I can't stress enough. Read. Read a lot. Read reviews. Read tips, read other user's methods on how to use the machine properly. Watch YouTube videos showing in depth tutorials. Educate yourself. When used properly, this machine will do what it says. I scratched discs into near mint discs. The games I tested on this thing all had light to light-medium scratches. I didn't really need to use the sanding pads that came with the unit. That's only for deep scratches and my games don't have those, so I was in the clear. To greatly reduce the chance of swirl marks, you should moisten the pads with water, about 5-10 sprays should do the trick. BUT, Windex works better. You wanna buff the scratches with the white solution first, then use the blue solution. Always use the blue solution because that shit will give the disc a mirror finish. But you should always moisten the buffing pads. With light/medium scratches, you wanna go through the buffing process 2 or three more times to get the finish that you want. In between every buffing cycle, clean the disc with rubbing alcohol. Then, after the end buffing cycle with the blue solution, wipe the disc with rubbing alcohol and let it dry. Then take furniture polish, and just use one quick blast on the disc and polish until the polish is gone. And when wiping discs down, don't use microfiber cloths. Use cotton balls as they want add light scratches to your discs. The discs come out so good you couldn't believe that they had scratches on them. Its a time consuming process and a lot of patience is required to get the best results. Its also pretty messy so be sure to grab plenty of rags or paper towels. Aside from the mess it makes and how long it takes, this machine made the discs I tested look immaculate. Its worth it if you have a smaller library. For bigger ones you might want to invest in refills and additional supplies if you want to easily take care of a larger library. Its a bit pricey, but you can also buy similar refills that are made by a 3rd party. Overall, if you're collecting disc based games, you're probably gonna want this.
