He hates his looks being complimented when people don't quite know him. He treasures everything the person holds within, not the outer looks and he foolishly expects people to do just the same. So, all in all, he likes his personality to be called 'hot', 'adorable', 'sweet' and all that, rather than his looks, even though he's also not that hungry for people complimenting him. Conclusion?
