“Yesterday, actually. You know, for work? This is my day off.” He’s squinting at him and crossing his arms over his chest. Nonna had been wandering aimlessly around the same area for a while now. Not sure where to turn first, she’d been told by several people that Venice was like a labyrinth if one didn’t know where they were going, and the last thing she wanted to do was get lost here. Nevertheless, it was a place she’d longed to visit for years, it just so happened that she found herself without a tour guide, and with no sense of direction.

“I’m sorry, I really don’t mean to be rude but. You’re the Representative of Italy, aren’t you? This is incredibly cheeky of me, but could you help me start to roughly navigate my way around here? I’m hopeless with directions and I really don’t want to get lost, could you maybe draw me up a map or something? If that’s possible?”

Character development questions

Gavrill’s eyes are always sharp, cat like. His lips carry a smirk, that even when he frowns they twitch with the threat of a chuckle. He’s expressive with his hands, and arms. A nervous tick of his is to hold his hands together, and pick at the skin around his fingernails. In many ways Gav is feline-like. He’s extremely still, and lanky, and great at stalking. When he strides, it’s like he’s on the hunt.

It had been Allan’s plan to tour the Italian countryside on his own bike for months. He would stay for a week or so, to wind down after the difficulties of the past year. What could be more relaxing than the hum of the familiar engine that he loved so much contrasted with the beauty of unfamiliar scenery? A breath of fresh air, with the warmth of home at his fingertips. Unfortunately, right at the last second, there were complications with his bike that forced Allan to make the difficult decision to leave his beloved Bonnie at home.  

Though he was bitter about Fake Bonnie, the bike he had rented upon his arrival in Milan, he couldn’t let the negativity of that one misfortune get him down. Not when it was 68F and sunny, and the chatter of locals was all he heard. Italy had such an inspiring air, and Allan was convinced that it was impossible to be sad here. He felt like he could do anything! But, well, before he could actually do anything? Coffee. There was no espresso in the world like Italian espresso, and god knew Allan needed the kick.
