Ail and An were unique to the first anime adaptation as neither of them ever appeared in the manga.

When combined, Ail and An’s names are a pun on the Japanese approximation of the English word “alien.”

An’s civilian names “Natsumi” (夏美) and “Ginga” (銀河) respectively mean “summer beauty” and “galaxy.”

Her voice actor, Yumi Touma, also played the Xenian in the R movie.

An may have been better versed in English than Ail. She is seen reading an English version of the “Snow White” story in episode 56. Then in episode 57, she herself said that she would have already completed Sakurada’s English assignment had she not been so energy deprived.

An was more prone to weakness from energy loss. This was evident in episodes 47, 48, and 57.

An never summoned a cardian herself because that was Ail’s role.
