There was something about the way Nue smirked that always got Seija fired up. Perhaps it was the fact that shit-eating grin was accompanied with a nonchalant attitude and a lazy slouch whenever the amanojaku threatened injury.

Maybe it was the fact that every time Seija would threaten Nue, they would laugh their silly, annoying, cackle and merely say in their sly, cool tone: “You and me both know you wouldn’t do that. You’re having too much fun with me to hurt me.”

Was she having fun? She didn’t even want to stomach the thought having a positive emotion foster in her.  

She knew that Nue was having their fun aggravating the living shit out of her, no matter what insult or threat she threw at them, Nue would always reply back: “Nope.” or “Are complimenting yourself?” or “We both know that won’t happen.”

“God damn, fuck off.” Seija said with a hiss, crossing her arms and giving Nue an angry glare , their laugh immediately coming from them right after her reaction. Even in the darkness of night of the forest, Seija could trace the lines of Nue’s lips, the glimmer of their teeth, the red and blue of their wings.

“Oh come on, I haven’t said anything and you’re already mad at me?” Nue asked, keeping their sly tone and they quickly flew over to Seija’s side. “Could it be that you miss me already?”

“Miss you?” Seija’s eyebrow twitched at Nue’s remark and she gagged at them. “I can’t believe you would think that I would miss you?”

“Awww don’t be so snappy, little oni.”

Oh hell no. They are not calling her that. That nickname that Nue would always call her, a way to annoy her no doubt. It was like their little pet name for her and sure as hell, Seija despised it since its birth. It made her, an amanojaku, a creature that could make this land bend to her will, a little show. A thing that people would laugh at before moving on to the next moment of the day.

“What the fuck did I say about that name?”

“Oh you mean the name that you claimed makes you sound like a joke?” Nue snorted at her, sitting on the pole of their trident and crossing both their arms and legs. “I mean you don’t need me to make you look like a joke.”

A nerve snapped inside of Seija and the amanojaku growled loudly which surprised Nue for a few seconds, their eyes closing shut and then opening to see Seija her face red and her fangs bared, staring directly at them. “You wanna fuckin’ go, you shitstain of a chimera? I swear I'll send so deep into the ground, you can see yer old man again." 

Nue raised an eyebrow at Seija’s actions and then frowned, her little comment striking a bit of their pride and inciting their anger but like they were going to like it show. They jumped down from their trident on the ground, the weapon going slack, descending, and then landing into their hands.  

Looking at Seija, Nue smirked and rose up to their full height, throwing the trident onto their shoulders. “Are you angry Seija? You should really let that anger go

“Of course I am.” Seija smirked back at the chimera. “By punching the livin’ shit out of you.”

“Best two out of three?”

“How about when you’re on the ground, a beaten pulp?”

“Then two out of three it is!”

“Shut the fuck up and fight me already, ya piece of shit annoyance!”

It wasn’t long before danmaku rained across the sky and sounds of crashing and explosions could be heard by youkai and people who were near their location. They always fought each other when they interacted but it was all in good fun, at least they got a workout out of it.

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT SEINUE IN GENERAL AND WHY YOU SHIP IT

YES I ALWAYS LOVE CLARIFYING THIS SHIP

Okay so backstory on why I ship it! I rp Nue on here and one of my rp friends used to rp as Seija and at first, they really got under each other’s skin or it was rather Nue getting under Seija’s skin with their constant berating and teasing which led to Seija threatening to hit Nue which the other would laugh off much to Seija’s rage. So Nue was teasing Seija like usual and Nue was basically like “fucking hit me i don’t give a shit besides i’m pretty sure you like me with all of that anger of yours” and seija growled and kissed Nue and their reactions were hilarious because they both were like “don’t fucking tell anyone we did or I will kill you” and then both of Nue and Seija were just like “but you know you’re kinda cute????? shit am i gay for you holy fuck”

And me and my friend, after a few more  interactions, were like “yeah we’re shipping it” and it started out as a crackship and then it escalated into one of my full blown 2hu otps as this otp I will always ship no matter what and IT ISN’T POPULAR LIKE I CAN’T FIND NO OTHER FANFIC OR SHIP ART OTHER THAT ISN’T MY OWN IM CRY

Also I’ve influenced a lot of people to ship this because I just won’t shut up about it im sorry guys

Other than the fact I ship it because it happened in multiple rps, I just can see it working in a way? I mean one of the basis for this ship is their similarities:

a. Both of them are malicious youkai species: Nues were known in the Heian Era for being creatures of fear and despair, able to kill people with their presence and Nues can cause others to become very ill. Amanojakus are creatures known to persuade others into doing wicked deeds and even doing wicked deeds themselves.

b. Personalities….well kinda. In my headcanons, both Nue and Seija are manipulative assholes man my fav touhous are some trash. Think Hazama and Terumi split into two touhou characters, that’s what we’re talking about.  Nue, trying to keep the image of the Nue strong as being the only one left, loves making others feel fear and despair, they love picking at it until their prey crumbles under it. Seija, already confirmed to be Touhou’s Terumi and a certified asshole, loves to have others hate her, the epitome of contradiction itself. The only difference is Nue’s upbringing kinda watered them down by allowing emotions such as regret, guilt, and mercy to be born in their personality (though Nue’s mother, Byakuren, and the tanuki who raised her in my headcanon).

c. Crying because it reminds me of Hazama/Terumi, one of my guiltly pleasure ships

d. They’re kinda tricksters in their own sense. Nue is a certified trickster. Seija loves to trick people into doing wicked deeds. Need I say more

I honestly think their relationship could be pretty interesting tbh! Like I see their relationship being like enemies or rivals that slowly turns into love and friendship because they realize each other’s struggles at the hands of fate and they join up because “it’s us vs. the world” and also it has everything a ship needs: the angst and the fluff.

Angst: Because I imagine Nue realizing that they could never truly love Seija because a). they’re dying soon anyway since chimeras have abnormally short life spans and b). Seija needs hatred to survive and loving her too much could cause her disappearance so Nue just puts on a show to keep Seija alive and near them Seija is probably going through a nervous breakdown because she’s an amanojaku: SHE HAS TO BE HATED, SHE HAS TO HATE. The sudden romantic feelings for Nue would send her into massive questioning and she would probably try her hardest to keep Nue away from her in order to keep Nue from getting hurt and dealing with them so for Nue it’s like “I love you…but I can’t see you hurt because of my selfish desires so I’ll just love you from afar or rather not at all” and in Seija’s case “I love you but I don’t fucking deserve you and you don’t need to be with a fuckup like me so stay away”

Fluff: ALRIGHT ALRIGHT AlRIGHT AlRIGHT. There are so much fluff that can go on like Seija trying to be big and tough but the minute there’s a bump in the night, she’s grabbing onto Nue or ooooooh I bet these two both like reptitles (Nue because they’re a snake and Seija because she finds animals considered ugly to be cute) and they just squeal at the chance they see a snake or bullfrog or the two causing trouble and running from everyone (ISC Part 2) LIKE GAY NERDS.

But this ship is like super unknown then again, for Seija a lot of ships aren’t SeiShin are pretty unknown like I’ve found about four ships that aren’t SeiShin (SeiMari, SeiRai or Seija/Raiko, Seitori, SeiNue) and there’s such little stuff for them like hello darkness my old friend.

But yeah that’s everything about SeiNue I think you should know about! Sorry if I’m coming off as a bit..um…desperate/clingy/bitter/etc? It’s probably because I’m super thirsty for this ship

The umbrella, when it rains - Nue does it just to make fun of Seija's height. The popcorn at the cinema - Seija and she would flick some at Nue till Nue's wings turned into animal form and it turns into a feeding game. The baby, when it cries - Mamizou is the official caretaker because Seija is trash and every Houjuu in the history of the Houjuu family has almost or has dropped a baby so Nue can't be trusted. The ice cream cone, when they share - Seija would take it and eat it whole in Nue's face then karma would bite her in the ass as she gets brain freeze The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - They would share it tbh since their movie interests are similar. Seija cries during happy parts like an amanojaku nerd The basket, when they go shopping - Nue probably would to keep the food in one piece The door, on dates - Seija and she would slam the door in Nue's face right after like a jerk The other’s hand, most often - Nue thinking about their entire identity of being a fearful monster as they touch Seija's hands or body in general and just blushes yes please Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - I'm sure they both would but Seija in a wedding dress tho,,,, NICE The camera, when they take pictures together - Seija and I'm sure she stole it from Aya.
