I was afraid it would not be either of your cats but Something Else
Well, it does appear a spirit was involved, but it was definitely Deebs sitting on my ankle :D

Oh, is THAT where Ghost has gotten to? Glad to see they are apparently okay... if that can actually apply to ghosts. --Dave, your foot may be haunted now
LOL! Well, it was a ghost for sure, but I don’t think it was the same Ghost; she seems to have stayed behind at the Bartment. Dearborn appears to have summoned an entirely new one!

Somehow it’s hard to picture you smoking.
It’s kind of hard to believe I did, to be honest. But yeah, I smoked for a portion of my 30s before quitting. This Halloween it will be seven years!

you could have just turned on your phone torch but you had to harass dearborn like papparazi *sigh*. (I jest, I jest - thank you for the endless stream of beautiful cat photos!)
My logic was that I could take the photo without sitting up, whereas if I had to sit up I’d probably wake them up and then they’d run around making noise at 3am. Which I did anyway, obviously, but my intentions were good. :D

Yeah, I'm 110% sure that when my Boomer parents die it will end up costing me money.
All the more reason to have the conversation now! There are things they can do while still alive, including life insurance if they can afford it (or if you can), that could ease the way. One way to open the discussion is to ask about how they’d like to be buried/cremated/etc, and then sort of lead into whether they’ve put a deposit on a cemetery plot, the kind of costs any given burial will incur, etc.
All of this is assuming, of course, that you have parents you CAN talk to about this kind of thing; I know that’s not always possible. My mother practically delights in making elaborate plans for her afterlife, so for me it’s easy :D
