“Don’t live in the past” okay well the people I love are there

Mist was a silly little museum tour guide drone on Earth. They know loads of useless facts and trivia from their work. Designed as a non-sentient drone, a walking audiobook, whose only goal was to do the best they could so they wouldn’t be deactivated—and if they were shut down, so be it.

Then a talkative News Writer drone shows up. Her presence alone scrambled Mist’s processors. Suddenly having emotions after two decades of neutrality is not an easy thing to handle, but after a quick tour around the ancient museum, Mist managed to wrestle their thoughts. For the first time in their life, they felt… alive.

Safe to say it didn’t end well for either of them.
