Hey. this blog is archived but I have more followers on this one than my new one so here I am with another psa to the Selfship Community.

So, real quick, if you post selfship art you got from a comm, regardless of where you got it from, please for the love and respect of the actual artist who drew it for you, don't be ambiguous about the fact you didn't draw it and that you got a comm. Credit the artist openly. Say the artist's url name in your post. Do NOT just use some cutesy emoji with a link back to the artist's page ESPECIALLY if you are posting their art without their watermark attached to it.

Artists deserve recognition for their work and many artists need it to spread their work to supplement their income. Heck. Some artists rely completely on their comm work for their income.

It's really skeevy seeing selfshippers refusing to openly acknowledge that the art they're posting isn't something they drew. I get it's your blog space yadda yadda yadda but when you pay or even just request that someone to draw for you, you don't get to use that defense to justify omitting the fact someone out there that ain't you made that for you.

Also just be soooo for real why wouldn't you be excited and happy to clearly state who the artist is? Why wouldn't you wanna link their blog or their website? Why? Real talk. There ain't no reason not to.

Use emoji! Use coloured text! Use your words to tell how happy and excited and grateful you are! Use gifs! Get creative! Do all the above! Just be more grateful to one another and show it for the love of your beloved f/o show it more.

Gentle reminder to please practice reblog karma - which means when you rb an ask game etc from someone who is asking for interactions or asks, sending something to that person in return (big or small, what matters is you send SOMEthing)

It's disheartening to have people come to your blog, rb the posts, and not bother interacting with you. If you really don't want to send in an ask, it might be best to ask yourself why that is. Expecting interactions from others when you won't give the same in return is a little unfair.

If you DID send an ask but you think tumblr ate it, you could double-check with the blog you rb'd from after a bit, or tag the rb asking to reach out if your ask didn't go through

Leaving the Self Ship Community

Yes. You heard me right. I will leave the self ship community. I'm done with all the discourse there and the drama, which lasted from January to April didn't make things better. I always have a bitter taste when thinking of it. So, I will leave it. If you're a mutual or friend who does self shipping, dw. I will still support you.

Turning into an OC Blog

This blog will now turn into an OC blog. I will show off the Art I make for Art Fight as well as my OCs. Those are my true hyperfixations, and I'm happy to know people supported my OCs when I was still a self ship blog

Name Change

I will drop two names. Poetryandnightmares as well as Akumu.

From now on (When I get access to my PC), this blog will be named ChoccyChaoticArt, and you can call me ChocoChan, or Choco (if you call me Akumu still that's ok though)

Regarding V and Dante etc.

I will leave the SeSh Community, but I will keep my F/O's. I self ship since I was like 11, and I won't stop it. I just won't embrace it on my blog anymore. You will see reblogs of stuff of V and others with the tags, but I won't refer to self ship stuff anymore

Regarding my S/I's

My S/I's will now be treated as Fan OCs. They won't dissappear. They're just my OCs now.

Ok this is something that I absolutely need to say but it's bad that I HAVE to say it! 😡 stop shaming fat people for selfshipping and saying that their f/o wouldn't love them.

They are perfect just the way they are! You guys are so awful. And for anyone who's gotten these asshats on your blog, my DMS are always free. This blog is a safe space. I will NEVER shame you for being bigger, Hell I'm bigger myself but I can't draw bigger people. 😅

Again, quit shaming fat self shippers for selfshipping! As a community, we should be supporting each other and be more welcoming. STOP BEING FATPHOBIC!
