I made a pieced-together #toastersweater #toastersweater1 by @sewhouse7 from remnants. It normally does not have a yoke at the top, but I had only scraps to work with. The funnel neck is great. I have a bunch of *warm* scratchy sweaters and turtlenecks often give me a headache, so I am playing with making dickies from just the shoulders/neckline for that purpose. I can’t say how I would feel about this made up in a gorgeous wool jersey (probably I’d love it) but this color block combined with a wide, unshaped body, and very short length (again, lack of fabric) is not working for me. I am short and have a small frame. The fabric isn’t draping close enough to see me inside it, and the shoulder/sleeve seam makes me look like I am playing dress up with someone else’s clothes. View 2 has set in sleeves (yay), a turtleneck (no) and a band at the hem (too sporty for me). I think if I could combine the hemline and funnel neck from View 1 with the sleeves and body width of View 2, plus fabric worth my while, I would like it. I may also add a FBA/dart, but that would require measuring the pattern to determine. Meanwhile, this hedgehog print becomes a pajama top.
