Here is my piece for today, which is the eleventh day of the month! It was made according to the same prompt that last year had on this date, which was "fairytale AU". In this AU, Luna is a spirit while my self-insert Adriana is a witch who inadvertently summons her, and this is our first meeting - I had intended to change both of our appearances to better represent this, and I was also considering writing this instead of rendering it, but.. time once again ran away from me today, so I didn't have time to do that. However, I hope that this looks okay, regardless - I'll have to talk more about this AU at some point, as I have put most of my selfships into it ^-^

Here’s my piece for the eighteenth day of sapphic September - it’s evil power couple time!~ I made the slight mistake of loading some effects before posing the models this time around rather than leaving them all until near the end, which had the unfortunate result of me accidentally flustering myself with work-in-progress Aqua shots multiple times. She’s just really pretty, okay, regardless of whether she’s fallen to darkness or not ;w;

“Legends tell a tale of two brothers and two sisters. The older brother was wise and calm, but the middle two siblings bickered over matters of logic and spirit, while their younger sister was kind and soft-spoken. The second brother set out to rule his own kingdom, while the older sister grew up to become the queen of their homeland, but their feud brought about a curse of eternal slumber, and it afflicted the younger sister.

Only such a tragedy could bring all four siblings together again, but they had left too many remnants of conflict in their wakes for all to be settled so easily. Everyone did everything they could to revive the princess, but to no avail; the only insight into her condition came from the older brother, who foresaw that only the person she was destined to marry could reawaken her.

That was five hundred years ago, and many people assert that all four siblings are no more. But it’s also said that the princess is still sleeping somewhere, in an undisturbed castle, awaiting the touch of her fated love..

..and I think I might’ve just found her.”

Alright, so, this one has a bit of a process to it. When I saw the “fairytale AU” prompt that was given for today by @sapphicseptemberhub​, my first thought was to make something for my mythical AU, which is a fantasy setting where all my selfships are canon simultaneously and almost all of my F/Os and self-inserts are present as various non-human creatures. (For example, in that AU, Pyra is a dragon stuck in a sort-of human form - with her aforementioned siblings being dragons who can choose to take a more humanoid form if they want to - and Sapphire is a werecat.)

But then I latched onto the “fairytale” aspect of the prompt, and accidentally realised how well a Sleeping Beauty-type tale would work for Pyra given how she canonically sleeps for 500 years, and then I came up with the story written above to flesh things out, and now I’ve possibly got a new AU on my hands, ahaha

To clarify Sapphire’s part in all this, she’s the rebellious daughter of a nobleman living 500 years after Pyra’s curse who likes going off on random chaotic adventures, and managed to stumble across the castle where Pyra was sleeping in the process. Since she knows the story, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to the princess, and.. well, that turned out to be what she needed to wake up again!

..So I had another AU idea about three weeks ago and finally was able to create something for it. Specifically, it’s an AU based on the song Alluring Secret ~ Black Vow (which is linked if you click on the caption), because my selfship with Aqua fits into its plot way too well and it wouldn’t really leave my head until I made what I’d been imagining into a render, ahaha

Here, this is what I was trying to match - it’s the cover for the album that both Alluring Secret ~ Black Vow and its counterpart song, Alluring Secret ~ White Vow, were released on back in 2010:

The biggest thing I realise I missed was the gloves, but I kind of wanted to keep them off of Aria because her hands are where you can see the “seams” of darkness best (which she’d still have in this AU because.. fallen angel consequences, I guess), and then I could not fit pre-existing gloves to Aqua’s hands for the life of me, so I just left those off too. The part of the pose where Rin’s head is above Miku’s also doesn’t really work because of how much taller Aqua is, which is why that’s not quite right either. But, apart from that, I think I did alright on both the outfit and pose counts!

This is an MMD render I made for Valentine’s Day, but I figured that - since all my selfship content with Anti-Aqua takes places within an AU version of normal events, i.e. where I selfship with Aqua instead - it could make sense to repost this for AU April! I hope that’s alright!~

This one was from a lot earlier on in the process after I had gone a bit overboard with darkness effects, since the pose is different, but I still think it looks pretty neat, so here:

I went through a lot of different angles and expressions when I was making this piece, but it’s one of the rare times when I was actually really happy with how Aria’s expression turned out given that she doesn’t have her mask on. It’s, again, from slightly earlier in the process since I’m doing this from my phone and only have what I shared with others already, but have an alternate angle that better shows Aria’s expression:

Just because we’re evil in this AU doesn’t mean we can’t also be soft with each other, you know?

zzz (in which soulmates first meet each other and share memories in their dreams before meeting each other in person—sometimes difficult to accomplish as dreams are hard to remember).

Aria dreams of a time that is yet to be, and Aqua dreams of a time before she ever even existed. Needless to say, the two of them get very confused to start with, and the haziness of dreams doesn’t make it any easier.

Aria knows about Aqua to a slight extent because she’s seen her in the Medals from the age of fairytales, and is able to use some of the memories Aqua shares with her to piece together more about what happens in the future.

The difficulty she has in remembering her dreams makes Aqua worry sometimes about whether that’s actually her soulmate she’s talking to, or if it’s just some strange manifestation of darkness trying to trick her into falling to darkness.

This only becomes worse when Aria falls into the realm of darkness, since that is what most of the memories she shares end up consisting of.

At one stage, while she is still an apprentice to Eraqus, Aqua finds herself writing little notes in the Land of Departure’s old records - adding pieces of information about the age of fairytales that were otherwise since lost to history. These edits are from the memories she picked up from Aria.
