korain had missed the darkness of the night, so he had been very excited to watch the sun set from a common balcony, with it also went a part of the heat as a welcoming breeze of cooler air came to give relief to the city. he was nowhere used to the heat, being from autumn court, but at least it was a seasonal court which made him a tad bit closer to home.

the autumn court lord was ready to leave, when he heard the footsteps and the click of the door as another fae entered this sweet secret spot he had found. " selina ? " he recognized her at once and approached her to greet her. it had been a while since the two had talked, and there was some odd energy between them that he had been avoiding, being the non-confrontational one, but he was aware that it was probably because he had abandoned all of his relationships when this whole adventure first started, too focused on himself. " how have you been ? how is your family ? " he asked her politely.

╰   ♡   since   they   had   arrived   in   the   summer   court,   addie   had   been   mostly   focused   on   the   the   threat   that   had   come   with   the   king.   taking   the   chance   to   explore   the   summer   court   now   that   the   threat   wasn't   looming   over   them   was   precisely   what   she   was   going   to   do.   turning   to   the   person   beside   her.   ❝   i   think   i'm   going   to   go   check   out   the   hot   springs.   care   to   join   me?   ❞

the   high   lord   had   already   squashed   his   shared   wish   to   attack   first   in   the   dusk   court.   it   was   safe   to   say   that   it   carried   forward   into   the   summer   court.   though   really   the   lieutenant   wasn't   sure   who   they   would   need   to   attack   at   that   point   in   time.   apart   from   the   king   at   the   very   least,   however   that   little   tyrant   had   picked   his   tail   up   and   taken   to   scurrying   off   to   the   unknown.   so   he   wasn't   even   an   option.

not   having   a   clear   target   definitely   took   the   fun   out   of   prepping   for   a   war.   there   was   no   end   goal   in   sight   at   the   very   moment.   however   it   was   not   enough   to   keep   them   from   maintaining   themselves   until   it   was   time   to   act.   while   day   would   have   been   preferred   so   they   could   have   first   dibs   on   the   training   rooms   summer   would   suffice   given   the   relationship   between   the   two   high   lieges.

"i   am   not   beating   myself   up   over   it,   i   just   wish   to   not   look   like   a   fool.   i   made   a   mistake   in   my   judgement   of   the   dusk   court.   it   is   likely   they   could   have   misjudged   us   as   well.   there   is   no   way   to   know   until   it   is   confirmed   by   one   of   them."
