Close5 Tips for a Quick Sale
There’s no better feeling than receiving immediate interest from multiple buyers on your item within just minutes of listing! Afterall, early interest is a sign of good things to come: Think “above asking price.” We here at Close5 want all our users’ selling experience to be as fun and efficient as possible. So, we’ve put our heads together to come up with the 5 best-kept secrets for a super-speedy sale!
Your photos are everything!
First things first, stage your item in good lighting. Moving your item near a window for some natural light is best, but if you must use artificial light, make sure your light source isn’t so close to cause harsh shadows or blinding glares. Next, make sure to snap more than one photo to highlight alternate views of your item. And lastly, if you can, staging your item in one photo to demonstrate size is always a good idea. For example, if you’re selling a handbag, have a friend model it for you.
Add less-wordy descriptions.
While descriptions are not required, they prove helpful to buyers who may be unsure about the item or its features. But, don’t to get too wordy. One to two short statements should do it, otherwise buyers may be easily fatigued by your lengthy description and jump ship.
Burn the mid-evening oil.
Knowing when your buyers are active is a great way to get more eyes on your items. Most Close5 users are more active at night, after they get home from work, are relaxing on the couch or checking activity just before bed. Posting items during these times will ensure that your items are seen as “New” to these buyers, who will naturally flock to your items first. Keep in mind that activity also spikes Friday through Sunday evening while buyers are weekend shopping on Close5.
Find your niche to gain followers.
Be known as “that one seller.” Posting several items of a certain type, such as home goods or baby & kid’s items, gains interest from buyers looking for those particular items. For example, fellow moms are bound to take notice of your remarkable inventory of baby & kid’s items and are more likely to follow you to receive updates anytime you list something new!
Joan Jett may not care about reputation, but you certainly should.
Responding promptly to comments and offers is a great way to build your reputation within the Close5 community. Additionally, buyers are likely looking through all your items and comments, so don’t lose patience with buyers that may have several, even redundant, questions. Chances are other buyers will see your graceful responses in a positive light.

Made a yarn spindle somewhat crookedly... Thinking about actually investing in this hobby and then talking to a local yarn shop to see if they'd be interested in carrying the yarn in their store because they don't currently have sari silk or similar recycled fabric yarn.
