Leköltöztem a tenger alá.
Two-tailed sirens in Hungary: research in progress
After I stumbled across a two-tailed siren on the ceiling of a Hungarian church, I had a feeling there were more sirens from this country. While I have found some drawings in books, I’m stuck on finding the actual photos, or any more information.
So I’m leaving what I have here. I might get more energy and track these Hungarian sirens down.

I hope I'll find the time to dig into these more, unlike some other rabbit holes I've fallen down. I'm really stumbling over Hungarian, to be honest. And some of these sirens are a little obscure— I can't even find the name of the church in Szenna.
Two-tailed siren as the Zodiac sign Aquarius. From Heltai’s Cisio, printed in Kolozsvár (Clausenburg/Cluj) in 1592.
Two-tailed sirens were popular in Renaissance-era books, including books of fortune telling, as a symbol of flattery, and as printer's marks. I've not seen as many two-tailed sirens in Hungarian art, but there is this two-tailed siren on a church.
