In the distance the pulp mill looms. The whole town is bathed in the sewery aroma of methyl mercaptan and dimethyl sulfide, but that’s just the smell of Finnish exports, the “green gold”. Unlike the popular saying, this time money actually smells.

Ah yes. I almost forgot. This morning Oulu greeted me with its trademark smell.
