This is going to sound so fussy, but I can't get the Keep Reading to work on your Divine Poetry masterpost. I'm a neurotic over-preparing mess, so I was wondering if you could either repost the FAQ here? Or a private message if you don't want to clutter up your blog? I've tried going back on your blog and looking through your tags but every version I click on brings me to a URL Not Found page. Thanks and sorry to be a bother! <3
Wow. Okay. That was a long FAQ that was really funny and really insightful. I’m kinda low right now, so it likely won’t be funny at all - sorry. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though!
1. Why a poetry challenge? I started Divine Poetry last year right after Tarotpocalypse run by @princess-of-pentacles who is awesome. I really love poetry (I have won awards for mine) and I wanted to share it. Last year it was a tarot challenge that was really popular. This year we’re focusing on the Auroracle Deck, which is my own fractal based oracle deck.2. Why the Auroracle deck? This is shameless self-promotion. I was going to do a monthly feature of the deck to begin with, so this is just a way to get people talking about it and seeing it. When I was creating the deck it came to me as a form of visual poetry. Each card invokes feelings and thoughts of poetry to me. I know this might not happen for everyone, but that’s why I’ve put the three keywords that are “official” to the cards.3. I don’t want to use your keywords, they don’t seem to fit the card - is that okay? Absolutely. The deck is supposed to invite intuitive readings. It’s supposed to give you ideas - but if you don’t want to use your own, that is okay too! I have kept my keywords as the “official” meaning. Official is in quotations because once the deck is in your hands (or in this case the basis for your poem) the meanings are yours alone to divine. You are welcome to agree with me or disagree.4. This is unfair, I wanted to do a tarot challenge like last year! Not a question because I’m lazy as hell. This has come up many, many times in my inbox. They’ve mostly stopped when I blocked one of them (if you use the same misspelling four times in a row, I know it’s the same person). Basically I decided that this is my challenge and I am going to be greedy and make the whole challenge about me. Basically the Auroracle is my favourite deck and I want to share it with you.5. Will you do another tarot Divine Poetry? I might. I am playing with the idea actually. I am thinking I might offer it as a November challenge (six months in between).6. When does Divine Poetry run? It runs from May 1 until May 31 for prompts, but the challenge ends on June 10. This is to give you a chance to have a breather or take time with a poem.7. I am not good at writing poetry, but I want to participate. Good! Write those poems. I don’t care about skill level. I usually do reblog really exeptional poems to my main blog, but all of them will be reblogged to @divinepoetrybl
8. Are there prizes? There are. This year I am doing a raffle. If you do even one poem you are entered. The three prizes are a handmade journal, a handmade bag and a copy of the Auroracle that will be mailed out before preorders even begin for everyone else! You will be the second person in the whole world to own a full, complete copy of the Auroracle!
Edited the last three because I pressed enter way too soon. Oops
