“they were just kids.” they all are, but right now the only important ones are those who’ve lost their lives. it still doesn’t make sense to her -- how somebody can take lives like they’re nothing, and spread hate and fear like this. she has new respect for her mother and the way she and her classmates lived through this stuff non-stop over their seven years. coming out of her momentary daydream, rupi hands the other a flyer that reads candlelight vigil at the top of it. “it’ll be tomorrow. by the lake, as soon as it gets dark. i just... i want to do something to honour them, you know? it’s nothing, but... it’s all i could think of.”
