Senator Kent
Lois: Let's play a game!
Everyone: No
Lois: Never have I ever
Lionel: Well at least there's drinking involved
Jonathan: You have problem
Lionel: You're one to talk
Lois Lane sits down cross-legged at one end of the coffee table. She just finished pouring the first rounds of Jim Bean whiskey with an eager and mischievous smile on her face. Lionel already knows he is probably going to regret agreeing to this game but at least Martha and, begrudgingly, Jonathan were also playing.
Clark was with them but he decided he would be tonight's designated driver since he couldn't get drunk at all. The only person present that would need it was probably going to be him. He had come here on his own accord instead of using one of his limos and the last thing he needed was to end up like Lex and wreck the porche
"Alright," Lois settled with a wiggle and held onto her own glass of whiskey. There was a deck of index cards in the center of the table with something written on each one that she and Chloe had worked together on. She looked over at her cousin with a grin, "The rules are simple. You take a card, read it out loud starting with 'Never have I ever' followed by what is on the card. Then if you have done it, you drink the shot. Anyone else who also has done it, also drinks the shot."
"So drink if you did, don't drink if you didn't," Lionel clarified and Lois nodded. "How do you know if someone is being honest?"
"You don't, but if somebody else here knows the truth they can call you out on it. Then you have to take two shots!"
Lionel frowned. "Alright. Who goes first?"
"I will," Lois offered and then reached over for the deck and drew a card. She flipped it over and silently read it. "Never have I ever... egged someone's house." She immediately knocked back her shot and then reached to refill her glass.
"That was quick," Clark commented with a curious look.
"There was this old man who didn't like kids, thought we made too much noise. So I and a group of friends decided to egg and TP his house one day after he told us off," she explained.
"Anyone else?" Lois glanced around and watched as Jonathan knocked back his own. "Ooo what did you do?"
"Do I have to reveal what I did?" Jonathan asked.
"No. You can take it to the grave, but this can't be that bad."
"I suppose it isn't considering he's in jail now," Jonathan smirked a little. "Ethan and I egged Mayor Tate's house. The man was a prick and deserved it."
"Who knew that you had a bad side?" Lionel raised an eyebrow.
"I was a teenager. You can't tell me you didn't egg someone's house when you were a teen."
"No, I actually didn't. Waste of good eggs," Lionel smirked.
"But you did something?" Martha questioned and he considered answering her.
"If it comes up, I'll drink to it," Lionel promised.
"You're turn Missus K," Lois said.
Martha reached for the cards and flipped one over, "Never have I ever... kissed a person in a public bathroom. Oh god..." She rolled her eyes and knocked back her own drink.
"Was it Jonathan?" Lois pried after having drank her own too.
"Yes."
Jonathan coughed and then drank his shot again, "It was in college."
To their surprise Lionel also drank his shot, "Fashion gala in Sweden. The woman I was with decided to be... adventurous; and before you ask, Miss Lane, it didn't get that far. I insisted on taking it to my hotel room before it could."
"Damn. Out of all of us, I figured you would."
Lionel snorted bemusedly, "Of course you would. Lex is more likely to be that sordid than I."
"I don't think Lex would put himself into that kind of position," Clark defended the man.
"No, perhaps not anymore. But he would have in his much younger years." Lionel refilled his glass before passing the bottle to Jonathan. "At this rate, we are all going to be drunk." He reached for the cards and took one for himself.
He was quiet when he read the words on it.
"Well?" Martha lifted an eyebrow at him. Lionel pursed his lips and then immediately knocked back his drink before shuffling the card back into the deck.
"Hey! You're suppose to read it out loud," Lois protested and tried to find the card he had taken. She should have numbered them just in case someone did do something like he had.
"That wasn't stated in the rules," Lionel pointed out. "Besides I did do it and its something I do not want to share."
"Because its illegal?" Clark supplied.
"No, its embarrassing."
Lois pouted, "Fine. But next time you have to read it out loud so the rest of us can drink to it or not."
"Fine."
Jonathan reached for his card, "Never have I ever... killed a man? What the hell, Lois?"
"Its a valid question!"
"Well I never did," Jonathan answered and sat back in his chair. "And I know Martha hasn't either."
Lionel sighed and knocked back his drink again, "To be fair, it was in self-defense and I had been held captive for three months."
"But not your parents?" Lois added and Lionel's expression darkened.
"I didn't kill my parents," he repeated once more. He filled his shot glass again and knocked it back before standing. "I'm done playing if these questions are designed to pry incriminating information about me."
"They're not!" Lois insisted and he gave her a disbelieving look. "I swear..."
"I don't buy it, Miss Lane," Lionel then heads for the door to go outside. Martha gets up immediately and follows after him.
"That wasn't your best, Lois," Jonathan gently berated.
"Alright, I may have slipped a question or two meant for him but I hadn't expected them to come up this soon in the game. Maybe when he's more drunk and less likely to notice," Lois confessed and rested her chin in hand. "I should go apologize to him, shouldn't I?"
"Yeah," Clark agreed while glancing through the walls of the farmhouse. He can see his mother sitting beside Lionel on the porch steps and hear them talking, but he didn't focus on what was being said. "But maybe wait a bit before you do."
Lois sighed.
