Jedi/Senator AU - Rey has just been elected as the Senator of Jakku, a planet which has just joined the New Republic, and has high hopes of guiding Jakku into a bright future. Knight Tico doesn't understand her optimism, as she has seen many times that the Republic, even if seen as powerful, can't help all planets under its care. Especially, those in the Outer Rims. Rey's positivity is annoying, but still she can't let it go.
