What’s your predictions for tfatws? Let’s not get Wandavision crazy here.
It’s already shaping up to look like the comic book run where Mackie takes on the mantle, but is deterred/double crossed by the government who don’t want a black cap.
That whole run is fascinating, and very action packed/political. I hope it leans all the way in as many new characters could get introduced - Senator Ross plays a huge role in that run, and if I were to say the word ‘thunderbolts’ to you and you googled it, you’d get hyped.
I think they’re going for that storyline. Just my thoughts.
Similar to the Ukraine affair that spawned the impeachment of President Donald Trump, the Tenure of Office Act has been denigrated as its own basis for impeachment.
When Republicans impeached President Andrew Johnson in 1868, they controlled the Senate by more than the two-thirds majority required to convict him. Six Republicans, however, announced that they would not support impeachment. The deciding vote therefore came down to Republican Senator Edmund G. Ross.
Ross voted to acquit Johnson. After which he mysteriously started getting tons of favors from the Johnson administration.
“Ross certainly got quite a number of favors for friends, and himself, after the vote. He kept going back to President Johnson, saying, ‘In consequence of my vote, I’d like this, this and this.’ Quite a number of things. And Johnson gave him everything he wanted. It was as if something had been set up.”
Small wonder, then, that Vice President Mike Pence just published an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal encouraging Democrats to follow Ross’s example and vote to acquit Trump.
